The NCCCO Signal Person certification was developed specifically for the signal persons who are trained and who will use hand and voice signals in crane operation. This course is available through our On-Site Training program, and will:
After the preparation and training, Crane Tech will facilitate the written and practical exams required for certification. To be NCCCO certified for a five-year period, candidates must pass the written exam and the practical exam.
The written examination consists of one examination with 60 multiple-choice questions, to be completed in 60 minutes. The signal person practical examination requires the candidate to demonstrate proficiency in giving both hand signals and voice commands. The practical exam also assesses the candidate’s understanding of crane dynamics and crane operations per OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1428.
